Ookla Speedtest continues to show that India’s broadband speeds are increasing in August.

India continued to grow in fixed broadband download speeds, with an average speed of 62.45Mbps for August. Ookla released the latest report on their Speedtest Global Index for August 2021. The report shows that India continued to grow in fixed broadband download speeds, with an average speed of 62.45Mbps for August.

This is the country’s highest-ever achievement. Ookla shared last month’s report showing that India had an average download speed of 60.06Mbps for fixed broadband. India is now ranked 68th in fixed broadband speeds worldwide in August 2021.

India’s overall performance for mobile download speeds has also improved slightly from 17.77Mbps (in June 2021) to 17.96Mbps. The country remains behind the rest in mobile speed rankings and is now at 126, down from 122.

According to the report, countries such as Uzbekistan and Colombia, Belarus, Cote-d’Ivoire, performed better. According to the Global Speedtest Index’s August report, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Singapore are at the top of mobile broadband and fixed broadband, with average download speeds of 195.52Mbps & 262.20Mbps, respectively.

In August 2021, Cuba and Liberia and the Marshall Islands experienced the fastest growth in fixed broadband and mobile download speed.

Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index is a comparison of Speedtest data from all over the globe each month. The Global Index has based on the millions of Speedtest tests that actual Speedtest users take every month to assess their Internet performance.
